New Hybrid OR in Cath Lab
Our fully donor funded Denise and Prentis Cobb Hale Hybrid Suite/Operating Room (OR) at the newly named Takahashi-Suzuki Heart & Vascular Center means seamless care for our patients. We are proud to have this future advanced operating room that will allow doctors to implant, repair, and perform complex minimally invasive procedures on the spot. Patients will receive care quicker with less stress.
At many hospitals, patients with a blockage in their veins or arteries are transferred to many areas during treatment. They have imaging tests in one part of the hospital and treatments in a catheterization (cath) lab. If surgery is required, they are transferred again to an operating room.
At St. Mary's, we will have the capability to offer these treatments in our new Hybrid OR. That means interventional cardiologists and radiologists along with vascular surgeons can all work in the room efficiently and quickly. What’s more, the Hybrid OR features state-of-the-art imaging capabilities, which will allow surgeons to perform complex minimally invasive procedures on the spot.
